SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State University athletic department announced on Thursday that it has entered a two-year agreement with Blockparty, a fan-focused hospitality and entertainment company. The partnership was formed to help enhance the game-day experience for alumni and fans at home football games over the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

“When I arrived at San Diego State, one of the things on my to-do list was to improve the game-day atmosphere at San Diego Stadium,” said San Diego State Director of Intercollegiate Athletics John David Wicker. “Our partnership with Blockparty over the next two seasons will allow us to provide our fans with a new option that will transform the southwest end zone into an exciting space where Aztec fans can mix, mingle and cheer on our team.”

Blockparty will have cabanas set up in the end zone at the southwest corner of San Diego Stadium. These premium hospitality areas feature a branded cabana with lounge furniture, HD televisions, and other high-end amenities while hosting fans near the action at field level.

“Increasingly, fans want to experience college football from comfortable surroundings, and our cabanas allow us to create a setting that exceeds the in-home atmosphere by offering premium options with outstanding views of the action on the field,” said Blockparty co-founder and COO Steven Gilman. “We could not be more excited to partner with San Diego State to transform San Diego Stadium into a more vibrant and exciting place to watch college football.”

Fans interested in experiencing a game from the cabanas for the 2017 season can email the Aztec Club at, visit or call (619) 594-6444 for more information.
